I'm Back!! ........ aaaaaand I accidentally deleted everything...

Hey strangers! I'm SO happy and excited to come back to art/ inspiration land! The past year has been a life-changing/ mind blowing/ endurance building year off. I'm now a mum and finally feeling relatively confident that I kind of know what I'm doing (at least this month!).

Due to a combination of annoying events, I accidentally deleted ALL THE CONTENT OF MY BLOG!!!!!! I don't have the patience to upload everything from the past couple years AGAIN, so we're just going to move onwards and upwards.

I'm a dummy

Welcome to 2015 :)

4 Month Break From Posting... Back At It!

This has been such a gorgeous summer here in Vancouver! Months of sunny days led to a lot of procrastination in my art land. Below are a few things that I managed to create in between working, relaxing, growing a baby (what what?!?!?!! ;), swimming and sleeping. :)

Here's some recent stuff I've been working on:

It was my nephew's Birthday recently and I heard he loves Minecraft, so I came up with this idea for his present.

Here's the beginning ideas for an Alice in Wonderland half sleeve for a friend of mine.

The next couple pictures are an example of too much is sometimes bad thing. :( I was so, so super happy about how this drawing was working out and then... I just couldn't stop. I thought "well, maybe this will fix it..." Nooot really! Who knows, someone might like it!

The Good

The Bad (sad face)

Whyyyyyy?!

I was feeling mushy and drew this for my awesome other half.

This is a collaboration between my brother and I. We thought we were SO clever with the little poem we made up! Haha oh my goodness. My brother drew himself and I drew myself. The rest of the poem is something like, "...so we joined together and are here to say, have a truly amazing Father's Day!" I love my family! You can find my brother's blog by Googling "Bond's Blog".

Stay tuned for more artsy fun a la me. :)

Sketch A Day: What I've Been Up To

Hello! It's been a while since I've been able to update my blog! Well, here it is folks! :P

A couple tattoos I've done recently:

These two cute little ladybugs belong to two cute little ladies! Best friends since they were kids, both mums now. They got them on Mother's Day :)

Arrrrrr ye maties!! Did this bad boy in 2 just over an hour long sessions.

Just a note if you're interested in getting tattooed by me: I usually only work on Saturdays but can make exceptions if Saturday doesn't work for you. I work at Mum's Tattoo in North Vancouver. Contact me at leelabond@hotmail.com to talk about an idea or to set up an appointment or even just to say hi :) Plus, if you've already contacted me about an idea an are waiting for me to get back to you, don't hesitate to remind me cause I tend to have a terrible memory! Eep.

Things that have been floating around my sketchbook lately:

Auuurggghh. :/ Another idea that I got super excited about but didn't seem to quite pull off. I like it but I think I need to start it again. The joys of working with permanent ink in the planning stage instead of pencil! Silly silly!

Just a candle.

Little sneak peak of a commission I worked on for someone. This is pretty big: 12x18

Short and sweet. Thanks for reading! I'll have more cool stuff soon. :)

Sketch A Day: Rounding Up and Looking to be Inspired

Here's some stuff I've been wanting to post for a while but wasn't able to cause I was waiting to give some of them as presents or they were just work-in-progresses. :)

For Megs and Nick's upcoming little baby boy. She calls him her little moose <3

My friend Amanda wanted to see what would happen in my brain if I brought zombies and Alice in Wonderland together. Result! This will be available shortly for purchase at my Etsy store, theartoflisabond.

I was also lucky enough to tattoo a good friend's mum! This was the design we came up with:

.... And this was the resulting tattoo!

Pretty :) Took about an hour and a quarter. I'm loving how the colour came out on her skin.

Remember this little lady?

Well, I turned her into THIS little lady who is WAY more awesome! :)

She will be available shortly on my Etsy site. :)

The other day, I received a message on my deviantart site (leelab.deviantart.com) from a really nice guy asking me if he could have my permission to get one of my original drawings tattooed on him! Seeing as he lives in the Netherlands, I wasn't going to hassle him to come to me, so I said "Sure! I'd love to see a photo of it when it's finished."

This is the drawing by me

.... and the is what he had tattooed! It's crazy seeing how another artist interprets my work. Very flattered and very cool. :)

Thanks for reading! :)

Sketch A Day: Putting Together My Tattoo Portfolio

Heya! I've finally collected enough decent quality photos of the tattoos I've done to start putting together a portfolio/look-book. I know there are other cool tattoos I've worked on that I would LOVE to take recent, healed photos of but it's hard to track some people down! Contact me at leelabond@hotmail.com if you want to book me for a tattoo! ;)  Here's what I've put together so far:

Sketch A Day: Oh Hey Look, It's April!

Hello and welcome to April!! Sun is shining, change is in the air, and I've hit a wee bit of a creative road block. Due to this annoying happening, I'm re-vamping how I post. I'll keep posting what I'm working on, but I don't think I'll put down dates any more. What you think? If you have an opinion on the matter or have any cool ideas about what you'd like to see on my blog, feel free to leave a comment below. :) On to a short but sweet post!

Cheers,

- Lisa

Turtle turtle turtle! About 1.5 hours

I did this for my husband's cousin's 15th Birthday. Good 'ol William Shakespeare quote.

Leaves I drew for a tattoo client. She came up with most of the original look, I just re-designed them.

Drawn using an awesome tattoo by an artist I LOVE called Nikko as reference. I lost interest due to feeling frustrated that I was drawing someone else's work instead of making up my own, so it's incomplete. About 2 hours.

Rose. About 3 hours.

Sketch A Day: My Etsy Store is Now Open!!

Yay! My store is open! Check out www.etsy.com/shop/TheArtofLisaBond to find my art for sale! I am also open to commissions.

k, enough of that! :P On to the drawrings!

March 3rd 2013
A pen sketch of Miss Katie Holmes. Not a massive fan but I always thought she was really pretty. This took about 2.5 hours all in all.

March 4th 2013
I've really been into the pens lately, haven't I? I honestly think it's a sign of laziness....  I just didn't feel like blending that much this week. 2 hours.

March 5th 2013
A Birthday card I made for my step-sister, Amy. I totally didn't draw ANYTHING on this card.... I just Photoshopped a bunch of cute pictures together.... I thought I was clever with the wording though. Haha

March 6th 2013
........ I'm sorry you have to look at this weird lady... I spent SO much time drawing this.... and look what happened. Sigh. Gotta try harder next time! I actually saved this file as "Ugh.jpg"

March 7th 2013
I drew this from a stock photo on a free stock photo website, so I don't feel guilty! This was one of my first ideas as a tattoo on my arm. Not going to go that way any more.  I just LOVE the old school microphones! I have one and it's the best. Did this one over lunch break today so, 1 hour.

March 8th 2013
This one I'm excited about! When I finish it, I'll be selling prints of this in my etsy.com store (theartoflisabond). I'm about down past her guitar now. When this picture was taken, I had put about 2.5 hours into it.

March 9th 2013
I laughed all the way through this tattoo! This guy was so funny. I've also tattooed the Jetson's dog on his foot, and an angry, pre-historic beaver on his leg. Interesting guy!
